Summary | DTE's pipeline has a pressure release valve at the interconnect below the Kassay Pad. The valve is set to "pop off" at 1200 psig. Our Kassay pad has a pressure safety high on our pad set at 1150 psig. So, our pad should shut in before the pressure release valve goes off shutting in our pad. The pressure safety high had been disabled and the pressure on the pipleline got above 1200 psig, causing the pressure relief valve to actuate. This venting of gas startled the water truck drivers and they ESD's the pad, which was the correct form of action. Going forward the pressure safety high on the pipeline pressure for the Kassay pad will not be disabled. |
